About Chat GTT, the One-Photo Meme Video Maker
Chat GTT is a small web tool that turns a single photo into your own vertical video of the "Chat GTT lookin' ahh" card-declined meme. You upload one clear picture, either of yourself or of your pet, choose a template, and download a 9:16 clip sized for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Nothing has to be filmed, edited or stitched together. There are two templates: the person version makes you the robot-voiced cashier who keeps saying the card declined, and the dog version gives that role to your dog, cat or other pet, phone at its ear. Both clips are set to the trend's original audio. The maker is not open yet; until launch you can join the waitlist on the homepage.
Why the site exists
The joke is simple. At a checkout, a cashier repeats "the card declined" in a flat, machine-like voice, and the customer fires back that the cashier sounds like a chatbot, mangling the name into "Chat GTT". People then began re-enacting the moment, and a second wave cast AI-generated dogs in the customer role. Joining in usually meant juggling a multi-clip editing template. We wanted a shorter path: one photo in, one finished clip out. If you want the backstory first, our original video guide covers where the clip came from, and the trend explainer covers what the phrase means and how it spread.
Is Chat GTT connected to ChatGPT or OpenAI?
No. This is an independent, fan-made tool. It has no affiliation with OpenAI or ChatGPT, TikTok, CapCut, or the person who posted the original video, and none of them endorse, sponsor or review it. "ChatGPT" is a trademark of OpenAI; the meme's misspelling is used here only as a description of the trend that people search for. We also do not claim to have started the meme. The site does not host, reuse or sell the original footage: the picture in every clip is generated from scratch from the photo you supply, and the clip is set to the trend's original audio.
What the templates can do, and their limits
Your clip is produced by third-party AI image and video model providers that we connect to through our own service. The photo you upload is the only visual reference: it tells the model what you, or your dog, look like, and the template supplies the rest of the scene and its fixed sequence of moments.
Generated motion is not filmed motion, so results will vary from one render to the next. A face may shift slightly, a dog's markings may change, and details hidden in your photo, such as the back of a head or a tail out of frame, have to be invented. Hands, paws, accessories and text in the background are where differences show up most. Always watch the clip before posting it. Which providers we use, and what they offer, can change over time.
Who looks after the site
A small team handles the templates, payments, support and the written pages, including this one. How we research claims, date revisions and fix errors is set out in our Editorial Policy.
How these pages are kept accurate
Statements about the product are checked against the maker itself: the options it shows, the file format it delivers and what it costs in credits, which you can see on the pricing page. Statements about the meme are limited to what we could confirm from the publicly posted clips and the way people discuss them, and where a detail is uncertain we leave it out instead of guessing. We do not publish view counts, user numbers, ratings or quality claims we cannot support, because every result depends on the photo and on the model behind it.
Using it fairly
Upload only photos you have the right to use: a picture of yourself, of your own pet, or of someone who has agreed to it. Photos of minors are not allowed. When you post your clip, label it as AI-generated wherever the platform lets you, and never pass it off as real footage of a person, a store or a company. The full rules live in our Terms of Service.
