Privacy Policy

How Chat GTT handles your photos, generated clips, payment details and cookies: what we collect, retention periods, who processes it and your rights.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes the information Chat GTT collects when you use the meme video templates available at chatgtt.video (the "Service"), and explains how that information is used, shared, stored and kept safe.

2. Information We Collect and Process

The data we hold depends on which parts of the Service you use. It falls into these main categories:

  • Account information: your name and email address, the identifiers you sign in with, profile fields, your preferences and session records.
  • Generation information: the photo you upload as the reference (a picture of yourself for the person template, or of your dog for the dog template), the template and settings you pick, the resulting videos, the status of each job, your creation history and when each step happened.
  • Payment and subscription information: which plan or credit pack you bought, your credit balance, order references, whether each payment succeeded, invoice details, the billing email, whether the plan renews and a limited amount of payment metadata. Your card number is collected by the payment processor and never passes through our servers.
  • Technical and usage information: your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, which pages and features you visit, the timing of requests, error reports, performance data and signals we use to spot abuse.
  • Communications: messages to our support team, privacy requests, content reports, feedback, and the replies that follow.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: information that keeps you logged in, secures sessions, remembers your language or display settings, measures usage and lets core features run.

3. How We Use Information

Here is what your information is used for:

  • Run the video templates, your account, your creation history, subscriptions and credits
  • Confirm your identity when you sign in, keep you logged in and help you get back into your account
  • Send your uploaded photo, together with the instructions of the template you chose, to the models that generate the clip, and deliver the finished video to you
  • Take payments, add or deduct credits, issue invoices and process cancellations or refunds
  • Spot prohibited content, fraud, security incidents and other misuse
  • Look into failed renders, track how fast pages load, learn which settings are popular and make the Service better
  • Answer support, content, legal and privacy requests
  • Meet our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

The legal basis we rely on varies by region. In most cases it is the contract between us; in others it is our legitimate interest in operating the Service safely and reliably, a legal obligation we must fulfil, or your consent where the law requires it.

4. Photos and the Clips You Generate

We process uploaded photos, selected settings and generated results so that your clip can be produced. To do that, they may be passed to third-party AI image, video and language model providers that process your photo only to make your clip, and to hosting, storage and safety providers. Today those are GPT Image 2 (OpenAI), which draws the opening frame from your photo; Seedance 2.5 (ByteDance), which renders the video from that frame and your photo; and Gemini (Google), which reads your photo to describe the subject so the template fits it. We reach all three through the API service Kie.ai. These generation providers may change; when they do, we will update this section, and whichever ones we use receive your material only for this purpose. The Service does not offer text-to-video or standalone image generation.

When a photo shows a face, we use it solely as the visual reference for the clip you requested. We do not build facial-recognition templates from it, and we do not use it to identify anyone. Only upload photos you have the right to use: a picture of yourself, of your own pet, or of someone who agreed to it. Photos of minors may not be uploaded, and neither may confidential material or personal data you are not entitled to share. If anyone other than you appears in your photo, such as a friend or the person holding your dog, you need their consent both to the photo being used and to the resulting clip being shared. We treat such a photo exactly like your own, and anyone pictured can write to support@chatgtt.video to exercise their privacy rights. Uploaded photos and generated results may be screened by automated safety systems for prohibited content and abuse.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Strictly necessary cookies, or similar browser storage, keep your session active, secure your account and make core features work. Preference and analytics tools may also be used to remember your choices, measure how features are used, highlight slow pages and help us improve the Service.

Most cookies can be managed in your browser settings. If you block the essential ones, you will usually be signed out and the maker will stop working. If local law makes optional analytics depend on consent, those tools stay off until you agree.

6. How We Share Information

We never sell personal information. Each recipient gets only what it needs:

  • AI and content-safety providers that handle uploaded photos and results to generate your clip or to check it for safety
  • Cloud hosting and storage providers that operate the Service and store uploaded and generated media
  • Payment providers that process purchases, refunds, subscriptions, fraud screening and billing or tax duties. One of these is Waffo Pancake; the checkout page shows which provider is handling your order
  • Email, sign-in, analytics, support and monitoring providers who assist us in operating and protecting the Service
  • Authorities or other parties where the law or a legal process demands it, or where, acting in good faith, we consider disclosure necessary to protect the Service's integrity, its users, anyone's rights or safety
  • A successor organization in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing or asset sale involving the Service, subject to appropriate safeguards

Our agreements with these providers limit them to the particular task we engaged them for and require them to keep the data confidential and secure.

7. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as we reasonably need it to run the Service, preserve your history, maintain security, settle disputes, enforce our agreements and satisfy legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.

  • Account and generation information may be retained while your account stays open or while history features remain switched on.
  • Uploaded photos and generated clips may stay in your history or in the storage the Service needs to deliver them.
  • Records of billing and transactions may be held for the periods that payment, tax, accounting, dispute and fraud-prevention rules require.
  • Security logs and support records may be held for a reasonable period, depending on operational and legal needs.

After we confirm that a deletion or account-closure request is genuine, we erase or de-identify eligible personal data within 30 calendar days. Copies in encrypted backups may survive for up to 90 additional days until the backup rotation overwrites them. Some limited records may be held longer where needed for legal compliance, fraud prevention, chargebacks, resolving disputes or defending legal rights.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on the law where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Learn which categories of personal data we collect, what we use them for and who receives them
  • See your personal data or receive a copy of it
  • Correct account details that are inaccurate or missing
  • Ask us to close your account and erase the personal data that qualifies
  • Limit, or object to, certain kinds of processing
  • Receive certain data in a structured, machine-readable file you can take to another service
  • Withdraw your consent where we rely on it
  • Stop promotional emails while still getting receipts and security notices
  • Complain to the data-protection authority in your country or region

How to exercise your rights

Email your request to support@chatgtt.video from the address tied to your account, with Privacy Request or Account Deletion Request as the subject. Tell us whether you are asking for access, correction, export, restriction, objection, account closure or deletion, and point us to the account or data concerned.

To avoid disclosing or erasing another person's data, we may ask for reasonable details that prove the request comes from you. We confirm and complete eligible requests within 30 calendar days of receiving them. Where the law grants extra time for complex requests, we will explain the reason and give you a revised completion date. Your name and some other profile fields can be edited directly in Settings.

Closing your account does not remove the payment, security, fraud and dispute records that the law obliges us to keep, or that we legitimately need, to protect the Service and the people who use it.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed by the Service and its providers in countries other than the one you live in. Where the law requires, such transfers are protected by suitable safeguards, for example access controls, contractual clauses and recognized adequacy mechanisms.

10. Security

We protect information with reasonable technical and organizational measures: data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to those who need it, credentials are safeguarded, activity is logged, and we apply anti-abuse and content-safety checks where appropriate. Even so, no online service can promise perfect security.

Should we learn of a personal-data incident that the law requires us to report, we will notify the affected users and the competent authorities within the time the law sets.

11. Children's Privacy

Children under 13 are not the intended users of the Service, and we never knowingly gather personal information from them. If the laws that apply to you set a higher minimum age, you must meet that one as well. Uploading photos of minors is not permitted. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, let us know so we can look into it and remove eligible data.

Some parts of the Service link to, or work alongside, services run by others, including the social networks where you post your clips. Those services follow their own privacy policies, and this policy does not apply to data they gather independently.

13. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be revised when the law, our providers or the Service change. Any new version will be published on this page with an updated date at the top, and where the law requires it we will give additional notice of material changes.
